What Aplomb is

Aplomb is an AI relationship coach you talk to. This policy describes exactly what data the app touches, where it goes, and what never leaves your device.

Account

You can sign in with e-mail and password, Google, or Apple, or continue as a guest. We store your e-mail address and authentication identifiers with Firebase Authentication (Google Cloud). Guests can browse, but AI features require an account.

Your conversations

Messages you send are transmitted to our server and forwarded to AI providers to generate the reply: text is processed by DeepSeek, and photos or files you attach are processed by Google (Vertex AI). Messages are used to produce the response; we do not sell them or use them for advertising.

Photos and files

A photo or file you attach is sent once, for the purpose of answering you, and is not stored on our servers. It is transmitted to the AI provider for that single analysis.

Screenshots you ask us to read

When you use "Read the Situation" with a screenshot of a conversation or a dating profile, that image usually shows another person's words or profile. We treat it accordingly: the image is processed in flight for that one reading, it is not stored, and nothing extracted from it is ever written to memory — even if your memory setting is on. This is enforced on our server, not just in the app. What you get back (the context card and suggestions) stays on your screen; edit or discard it as you wish.

Voice

Speech-to-text runs entirely on your device using the operating system's recognition. Your audio is never uploaded anywhere; only the text you choose to send is sent.

Memory ("Get to know me")

Long-term memory is off by default. If you turn it on, Aplomb keeps short factual notes about you (for example your name or interests) in your own account space so coaching can be personal. You can see every stored note in the app, delete any single note, or erase all of them at any time. Turning memory off stops both reading and writing.

Usage metering

We keep per-account counters (message and token counts) to enforce fair-use quotas. These contain no message content.

Data deletion

You can delete your account inside the app (Sign out dialog → "Delete my account"). Deletion removes your authentication record and your stored data, including memory notes and usage counters. You do not need to contact support, but [email protected] will help with any request.

Children

Aplomb is rated 17+. It is a relationship coach for adults: it discusses dating, attraction and relationships in frank language, but it never produces sexually explicit content and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it.
